Farewell from Mrs McArdle
After 30 wonderful years at St Joseph's Primary School, the time has come for me to say goodbye.
This school has been more than just a place of work — it has been my second home, and brought me great joy. It is difficult to put into words the depth of gratitude I feel as I reflect on the journey we have shared. It has been the greatest honour of my life to work in this incredible school community. From the very first day I walked through the doors, I knew this was a special place — a place filled with laughter, learning, and love. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching generations of children grow, thrive, and go on to do amazing things. Each one has left a mark on my heart and I am incredibly proud of them all. It has been a privilege to lead the school for the last 11 years as principal.
To the staff — past and present — thank you for your unwavering dedication, your passion for teaching, and your belief in every child. Together we have inspired minds, nurtured confidence and helped shaped futures and ensured our school is a safe, welcoming and joyful place to be.
To the parents and carers, thank you for your trust, your support, and your partnership over the years. I've been incredibly fortunate to work with such dedicated and caring families.
And to the children — you are the reason I came to school every day with a smile. Your curiosity, kindness, and joy have been my daily inspiration. Watching you grow and succeed has been one of the greatest joys of my career. It fills me with immense pride to see the wonderful people you have become.
I want to thank the Board of Governors and the PTA for their continuous commitment and support in leading and helping the school achieve it's goals. I am also so grateful to the Crossgar community for supporting us continuously, for sponsoring events as well as enriching our children's learning experiences. Your kindness has made a real difference in the lives of our pupils.
As I leave this school, I do so with immense pride in all that we have accomplished together. Though I am stepping away from my role, I will always carry St Joseph's in my heart. I leave with a heart full of gratitude and pride, knowing that the school is in good hands and that its future is bright.
Thank you everyone for 30 unforgettable years.
With warmest wishes,
Siobhan McArdle
