St Joseph's Primary School, Crossgar

Welcome

St Josephs Primary, Crossgar

Welcome to St Joseph’s Primary School website. I hope you find this website helpful in learning about St Joseph’s, its purpose and practice, its standards and expectations, the scope of its academic provision and the diversity of its extra-curricular activities. The school provides a friendly, caring and excellent learning environment for the children of Crossgar and outlying rural districts.

As a Catholic school the core values of respect, tolerance, honesty and inclusivity permeate all relationships and aspects of school life. We put the children at the heart of every decision, and value the great relationships that we have formed with our parents. We are extremely proud of all that goes on within our school and you will see how well the children are supported in their learning through the dedicated work of the staff, parents, parent teacher association and governors.

Through our website we hope to give you a flavour of some of the school events, visitors and experiences offered to our children. However we believe that the best way of experiencing the atmosphere of a school is through a visit, or spending time here in St Joseph’s, that you will discover the wonderful ethos present. We want our pupils to be happy, settled and confident in their school surrounding. We therefore strive to ensure the environment is safe, secure and friendly, to enable children to develop to their full potential.

We value strongly the partnership that exists between St Joseph’s, the parents and the community here in Crossgar. We have very close links with Appleblossom Preschool (formerly known as Glasswater Preschool) which is situated on our school premises. In addition, we have very good relationships with other local primary schools. These relationships are fundamental in supporting each child’s development and we look forward to maintaining and improving these links with you as an existing or new parent.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any additional information about a particular aspect of school life or if you wish to visit the school.

Thank you for visiting.

Mrs Siobhan McArdle
Principal
