Catholic Schools Week Assembly

19th Jan 2026
This morning, we came together for a special opening assembly to mark the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. The focus of the assembly was the theme “Normal lives, called to holiness”, helping children to understand that holiness is not about being perfect or famous, but about living with love, kindness and care in our everyday lives.

During the assembly, pupils learned about inspiring saints who lived ordinary lives but chose to follow Jesus in simple and meaningful ways. We reflected in particular on the lives of St Thérèse of Lisieux and Carlo Acutis.

St Thérèse taught us about “The Little Way”, doing small things with great love. Carlo Acutis showed us that even in the modern world, young people can live holy lives by using their talents for good and placing God at the centre of their lives.

As Catholic Schools Week continues, pupils will take part in a range of activities that celebrate our faith, our community and our shared call to live as followers of Jesus in our normal, everyday lives.

We look forward to sharing more moments from the week with you.
