P5 are loving their World Around Us topic on space! 🚀🌌 This week, we learned all about the Sun and took part in some exciting experiments.
The children investigated how day and night occurs by using a globe and a torch. They examined how sunlight falls on different parts of the Earth and how this determines the time of day in each location. 🌍🔦
We also explored UV light using special beads that change colour when exposed to the sun’s rays. ☀️ To investigate how we can protect ourselves from UV light, some of the beads were covered in suncream. When placed in the sunlight, the unprotected beads turned vibrant colours instantly, while the beads covered in suncream stayed white.
We had a “glowing” time in World Around Us this week! 💡✨Well done P5, for your enthusiasm and brilliant learning this week! 👏😊
