Health and Wellbeing

Schools in Northern Ireland have a significant role to play in supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing.

In Saint Joseph's, we pride ourselves on the work we have done to arm staff and children with the tools to navigate the world around them, as we muddle through the ever changing 'new normal'.

In the 2021/22 academic year we will be exploring the following areas of mental health and wellbeing

-Staff Resilience (staff will complete a 'circle of resilience' training from an outside agency)

-Healthy Me (The children will be involved in workshops in December based around healthy minds)

-Social and Emotional Learning (including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, friendship skills, responsible decision making)

-Trust

-Resilience

-Turning self-doubt into self-confidence

ParentLine Ni offers free advice, support and guidance to parents and carers. The staff are experienced and qualified. The support is confidential.
