Welcome to St. Joseph's
Welcome to St Joseph’s Primary School. I hope you find this website helpful in learning about St Joseph’s, its purpose and practice, its standards and expectations, the scope of its academic provision and the diversity of its extra-curricular activities.
Of course, no website can convey the real atmosphere of a school and it is only through a visit or spending time here in St Joseph’s that you will discover the wonderful ethos present. We want our pupils to be happy, settled and confident in their school surrounding. We therefore strive to ensure the environment is safe, secure and friendly, which enables children to develop to their full potential spiritually, intellectually, socially
and personally.
We value strongly the partnership that exists between St Joseph’s, the parents and the community here in Crossgar. This is fundamental in supporting each child’s development and we look forward to maintaining and improving these links with you as an existing, or, as a new parent.
Mr. B. Coulter
Principal

A very sincere thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to the ceremony of First Communion on Saturday. It was a beautiful mass, the children sang and read extremely well in P4 and the choir were in top form singing each song really sweetly. Well done boys, girls Mrs Forster and Dr Ellis. A special word of thanks to Miss Flanagan who prepared the children so well, they were confident, relaxed and professional in every aspect of the mass. Thank you also to Fr Henry for putting the children at ease and guiding them in their practises and on the big day.
Congratulations to Inter Milan in winning the latest lunchtime soccer league in St Joseph's Primary School. Leona, Conor, Se, Samuel and Rian won all of their matches to comfortably seal the league title. They were presented with their cup and medals at a recent assembly.

On Thursday 15th March St Joseph's had a Green Day to celebrate St Patrick's day and to raise money fo rthe school council. The children dressed in green and took part in games, competitions and had a cake and bun sale. It was organised by the school council and Primary Seven. The grand total raised on the day was £255, thank you to everyone who contributed. The school council will now meet to decide what they would like to spend their budget on. We will keep you up to date with any developments in this area.
